This past week was GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Saviour) Sunday! We were so happy to have the Vernon GEMS club girls there are well as many visitors.
“With all the catastrophes happening around the
world, why would God answer my prayers if He doesn’t answer the prayers of the starving people? (1 in every 6 people are starving in the world today) So, if I ask for Him to help me get a job, or to help me overcome selfishness, or help me with whatever, and I’m sheltered and well-fed. Why would He even consider my prayer and yet allow 1 billion people starve to death?”
This week Pastor Andrew answers the question, "How Does Our View Of Heaven Shape Our Lives Here?" As an extra special treat, there's a poem translated from Dutch by Case Boot at the end of the message.
Ps. Anyone looking for the book that Pastor Andrew mentions in his message can find more info here.
The beginning of our Malachi series and response to the question:
“The Bible says that God loved Jacob and hated Esau at birth. Are we predestined to be chosen before we have a chance to do good or bad, or are we saved by what we do (ie: love the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind, love our neighbor as ourselves, believe that Jesus is the Son of God)?"
